“Someone from a long, long time ago.”
When I called Tommy the next week Gloria was all aflutter with the
scandal of it all.
“But who is he?”
“Just a guy I used to know.”
“An ex-lover! How fabulous! So when he–”
“Goodbye, Gloria.”
“No, let me stay! They don't let us watch TV in here. I need a
little drama.”
“Gloria...”
“Come on, this is as close as I'll get to watching a soap opera
until I get out.”
“Goodbye, Gloria.”
“Fine,” she said as she trudged
out.
