In spite of all the danger... (The Beatles)

The reception was exquisite. The grounds were freshly manicured and the smell of grass wafted through the cool air of the clear summer night. Clear lights were strung all around, illuminating the night, the guests, and the beauty of the joining of two young souls in holy matrimony.

After the last round of food had been served and the guests sat back, sipping coffee, tasting treats, and watching as the couple had their first dance.

In spite of all the danger – this was the song Tommy insisted on. It was the only legitimate request he had in the wedding plans.

In spite of all the danger

They met on the empty dance floor.

In spite of all that may be
I'll do anything for you
Tommy held her in his arms as they slowly swayed.
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me

Tommy whispered the words along with his heroes.

In spite of all the heartache
That you may cause me
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me
I'll look after you
Like I've never done before
I'll keep all the others
From knocking at your door
Mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends wept as they watched the couple glide.

In spite of all the danger,
In spite of all that may be
I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me

The chorus repeated as they peacefully swayed as if they were alone not being watched by a swarm of diligent eyes. While her head rested on his chest, Tommy whispered on:

I'll do anything for you
Anything you want me to
If you'll be true to me

And she would for the rest of her life, in spite of all the danger.
